'80 A's take 1906 Cubbies to the wire, before coming up short.

GAME 1- Oakland 10  Chicago 6
Oakland comes out strong in Game 1 roughing up Three Finger Brown for 10 runs on 16 hits.  Dave Revering goes 4-5 with 3 RBI to pace the A's. A's lead series 1-0
 
Game 2- Chicago 4  Oakland 3 (10 innings)
Pitching settled down in Game 2 as the game goes into the 10th inning tied 1-1.  Chicago scores 3 in the top of the 10th to gain a 4-1 lead.  Oakland puts up 2 in the bottom of the 10th but the game ends when Revering gets thrown out at home for the 3rd out. Series Tied 1-1
 
Game 3-Oakland 6 Chicago 4 (13 innings)
The series shifts to Chicago and another game goes extra innings.  Wayne Gross hits a game winning single in the Top of the 13th to drive in 2 runs.  A's lead series 2-1
 
Game 4- Chicago 1 Oakland 0
Reulbach throws a 2 hit shutout and out-duels McCatty in Game 4 to send the series back to Oakland for Game 5.  Series tied 2-2
 
Game 5-Chicago 10 Oakland 5
Chicago jumps out with 4 in the 1st and never looks back to win the Series 3-2.  Frank Schulte drives in 4 to secure Series MVP honors.
